AROUND TOWN

Delightfully located at the foot of the Strzelecki Ranges, Churchill is just a stone’s throw from its larger sibling, Morwell.

Keep an eye out for The Spire landmark - at 32m tall, the giant monument is hard to miss. The sculpture is known locally as The Big Cigar, and is mistakenly believed to be a tribute to the town's namesake, Winston Churchill. However, its true origin story is to be a beacon, guiding people to the town.

Nearby is picnic-perfect Mathison Park, a scenic spot for walking around the tranquil Lake Hyland. Fishing platforms around the lake are magical spots to cast a line or watch the local birdlife.

Eat

Be sure to grab a meal from the Churchill Hotel for all your classic pub favourites. The grassy outdoor area is perfect for warmer weather, beneath a canopy of umbrellas and string lights.

Build your own Central Gippsland Farm Gates tour exploring the lands that raise fresh fruit and produce bursting with flavour.
